Secondary glioblastoma and corresponding precursor tumours are analysed using modern molecular high-throughput sequencing of the transcriptome such as array comparative genome hybridization (aCGH), Exome-Seq, RNA-Seq and miRNA microarrays. In addition, we characterize in vitro primary cell cultures obtained from patients. Ultimately, this work will elucidate the progression of this serious cancer and help to identify molecular targets for therapy. Furthermore, the data generated will be used to build a mathematical model of glioma that will further help to understand the fundamentals of glioma promotion and progression..
